"Meditation heals." This phrase appears on thousands of websites. But is it true? It depends on what you mean by healing.

What Science Says
Research shows that regular meditation: - Reduces cortisol (stress hormone) - Improves the immune system - Decreases chronic inflammation - Aids in recovery from illnesses - Reduces chronic pain
Meditation does not cure cancer nor replace antibiotics. But it creates an internal environment where the body recovers better.
Healing Meditation: What Works
The so-called "healing meditation" usually combines: - Deep breathing (activates the parasympathetic nervous system) - Visualization (directs attention to parts of the body) - Progressive relaxation (releases muscle tension) - Silence (allows natural regeneration)

This is not magic. It's physiology. When the body moves away from chronic stress, natural healing processes work better.
Healing of the Soul According to Vedānta
For Vedānta, "healing of the soul" is not about curing a sick soul — because ātman is never sick. True healing is the removal of ignorance (avidyā) that makes you believe you are limited, vulnerable, mortal.
When this ignorance falls away, what remains is plenitude. Not because something was "healed" — but because what was always whole was finally recognized.
How to Start
If you have an illness — treat it with a doctor. Do not replace treatment with meditation. Use meditation as a complement — 10-15 minutes daily. For deep healing — study Vedānta and discover who you truly are.
