Our Study Method

Traditional Teaching in Contemporary Context

We follow the authentic Arsha Vidya methodology, the same used in India for thousands of years. The study is systematic, verse by verse, with traditional Sanskrit analysis adapted to the contemporary world.

Professor Jonas teaches in Portuguese and English, making this ancient wisdom accessible to international students while maintaining the depth and precision of the traditional approach.

How to Study

1

Study Groups

Join our regular study sessions where we explore fundamental Vedanta concepts together and share life experiences. These groups serve as preparation for the Regular Classes and provide a supportive community environment for learning.

Most of our study groups welcome both new students who are just beginning their journey and advanced students who come to help and support the newcomers. It's a space where everyone learns from each other.

✓ Regular meetings✓ Community support✓ New and advanced students together

Regular Classes

Our most comprehensive program. Traditional study, verse by verse, with direct guidance from the teacher. For serious students who want to become true practitioners of Vedanta. The class includes optional retreats and direct access to Professor Jonas.

In-person retreats are an essential part of the study. The immersive environment of a retreat allows for deeper absorption of the teachings in a way that online classes alone cannot provide. Our study program includes optional in-person retreats in Brazil, the United States, and other countries — bringing the traditional Gurukulam experience to international students.

✓ ~2 years program✓ Direct teacher guidance✓ Retreats in Brazil, USA & more

Language & Accessibility

Our community is international, with students from Brazil, the United States, Europe, India and other countries. We welcome students regardless of their previous involvement with the Vedic tradition or spiritual path, provided they can communicate in English.

Traditional Sanskrit terms are explained in both languages, and all retreats and materials include English instruction and explanations.
