Subtle body — mind, senses, prāṇa, and intellect
Sūkṣma-śarīra is the subtle body, composed of 17 elements: five prāṇas, five organs of perception (jñānendriya), five organs of action (karmendriya), manas (mind), and buddhi (intellect). It is the vehicle of experience in the dream state (svapna) and persists across lives (transmigrates). The subtle body is where saṃskāras and vāsanās reside, and is purified through karma yoga and upāsanā.
