About the festival

The Indian Festival of Vedānta & Self-Knowledge reaches its fifth edition gathering, in one place, the traditional teaching of Vedanta, the artistic expression of Indian culture, and the community that has formed around this tradition in Brazil.

The program includes daily Vedanta classes with Jonas Masetti, mantras and bhajans, body work, satsangs, and performances by 18 professional Indian artists — musicians and dancers traveling from the United States and Canada for the event.

The 5th edition is marked by the inauguration of Ganesha at the Cultural Center, with a Homa ceremony on the morning of May 8. In recognition of the Vishva Vidya Institute’s work spreading the Vedic tradition outside India, the Indian Ambassador to Brazil, Dinesh Bhatia, and the Consul of India in São Paulo confirmed their attendance.

The gathering takes place at Granja Brasil, in Itaipava, Petrópolis. Spots are limited — early registration is recommended.
