The most concise Upaniṣad — 12 mantras revealing the nature of Om and consciousness
The Māṇḍūkya Upaniṣad is the most concise of the principal Upaniṣads — only 12 mantras — but is considered by Gauḍapāda and Śaṅkara as sufficient for liberation. It analyzes Om as a symbol of Brahman and relates it to the three states of experience and the fourth (turīya) — consciousness pervading all.
