Tripura Sundari Yatra
Two weeks in Naggar, in the Kullu valley, between study, visits to temples and the celebration of the festival of the old village of Naggar — an immersion in a place where the Vedic tradition is still lived every day.

There are journeys you want to repeat. This is not one of them.
This is not an ordinary tourist trip. For two weeks, the Teacher and a small group of students will live a singular journey through the Kullu Valley, joining the study of Vedanta with the experience of being in a place where this tradition was preserved and is still part of everyday life.
We will be together in Naggar, between the study, the mountains, the temples and the local celebrations. The journey also coincides with the village festival and with the full moon, moments of special significance for the tradition and for local life.
More than getting to know India, the proposal is to come closer to this tradition in its essence and to live an experience capable of transforming each person's relationship with study.

The place
Naggar, in the Kullu valley
High in the Indian Himalaya, Naggar is a small village in the Kullu valley, surrounded by mountains, cedar forests and ancient temples. On the banks of the Beas river, it is a place where everyday life still keeps a deep relationship with the local traditions and deities. Among them, Tripura Sundari, who gives our yatra its name.
The itinerary
What the days are like
May 9 to 11
Arrival
Departure from Brazil between the 9th and the 10th. On the 11th, arrival in New Delhi, a flight to Bhuntar/Kullu and the drive up to Naggar.
May 12 to 17
Immersion and sādhana
Classes in the morning. In the afternoon, the temples of the valley and walks through the sacred mountains. In the evening, satsaṅga to settle the day.
May 18 to 21
The temple festival
The village temple festival falls exactly on these days — and the group enters it accompanied, guided by those who know what is happening.
The high point is the full moon on the 20th.
May 22 to 24
Integration and return
Classes resume on the 22nd and the 23rd, now with what the festival opened. Return on the 24th.
The study
What we will study
The mornings will be devoted to study. The idea is not simply to take to India a course that could happen anywhere, but to live the experience of studying Vedanta at its source, closer to its roots and in a place where this tradition remains alive and present in everyday life.
Over the two weeks, the study will follow two strands: a chapter of the Bhagavad Gītā, chosen especially for the group and studied with time and depth; and the 108 names of the Devī, taught and chanted there, in the very valley that belongs to her.

A pilgrimage among friends
This yatra was born from the friendship between Professor Jonas and Jyothi and from their wish to walk this path together. Now they are opening the experience to a small group of students who would like to share the study, the daily life and the pilgrimage with them.

Plus US$ 2,000 of dakṣiṇā for the yatra, paid in cash in India itself.

Before you go
Entering India
Each person arranges their own documents. Start early: the visa and the vaccination have deadlines.
- Passport — valid until at least November 11, 2027, with 2 blank pages.
- Electronic visa — the 30-day tourist e-Visa, requested only on the official site, indianvisaonline.gov.in. Applications open around January 9, 2027 and close 4 days before arrival. No one is authorized to charge you to handle the visa.
- Yellow fever vaccination — required for those travelling from Brazil. Take it by April 29, 2027 and issue the International Certificate of Vaccination, free of charge, through Meu SUS Digital.
- Arrival card — the e-Arrival Card, filled in online within the 72 hours before arrival.
- Travel insurance — required in order to travel with the group.
- Return ticket — India requires one, together with enough money for the stay.
- Health declaration — currently requested up to 24 hours before arrival. The team checks again closer to the trip.
Registration
How to register
There are 30 places, and the yatra is only for enrolled Vishva Vidya students.
- You fill in the pre-registration form — it takes a few minutes.
- The team reviews every pre-registration. Filling in the form does not guarantee a place.
- Once your pre-registration is approved, the team sends the R$ 2,700 charge by email. That payment is what confirms your place.
In case of withdrawal, the deadline for a refund is seven days after registration.
