Born in 1953 in Rio de Janeiro. As a young person, the common religions were not enough. "In the beginning, the religions I knew spoke of God in a way that didn't resonate. But I felt there had to be a cause for the universe," she says.
In 1973, Swami Chinmayananda came to Brazil. He spoke of God as an intelligent cause. That was it. In 1974, at 20, she and her husband went to India.

From 1974 to 1978, she studied with Swami Dayananda Saraswati. Centers like Arsha Sandeepani in Mumbai, Uttarkashi, Rishikesh.

"Almost five years in India made me understand what had grabbed me from the start," she says.
The Return to Brazil and the Founding of Vidya Mandir
She returned in the late 70s. Challenge: translating from English and Sanskrit into Portuguese. "I learned everything in English. I was away for 9 years. At 25, I had to reinvent myself in PT," she recalls.
