Jonas Masetti: The Brazilian Who Became an Ambassador of the Vedic Tradition Worldwide

Jonas Masetti, or Acharya Vishvanatha, connects Brazil to India. An engineer who became a Vedānta teacher. He has brought ancient wisdom to thousands here and in the world.

In 2025, he received the Padma Shri. A top Indian honor, recognizing those who preserve Vedānta outside India. Jonas is the only Brazilian recipient this year.

A Journey of Personal Transformation

It started normally. Mechanical Engineering at IME, Rio. Partner at Morning Star Consulting. Major companies.

Success came. Family, money. But emptiness. "I had everything the West thinks is enough for happiness. It wasn't. Other successful people were also without peace," he says.

In 2003, Santosh Vallury, an Indian teacher in Brazil. Yoga. Two years with him. Then, Glória Arieira, a pioneer here. Padma Shri in 2020.

Immersion in the Vedic Tradition

Turning point: India. 4.5 years at Arsha Vidya Gurukulam, Coimbatore. With Swami Dayananda Saraswati, a top master.
