The Riddle Everyone Faces

The Riddle Everyone Faces

*Based on the inaugural class of "Vedānta na Veia," with Jonas Masetti (2018)*

---

Have you ever stopped and looked at your life — all of it — and felt that something doesn't add up?

I'm not talking about a specific problem. Not the job that isn't going well, the relationship that's gone cold, the bills that don't balance at the end of the month. It's something broader. Deeper. A kind of discomfort that persists even when things are, objectively, fine.

This is the riddle Jonas Masetti describes in the inaugural class of Vedānta na Veia. And he says something provocative: everyone, at some point, is going to run straight into it.

It's not a question easily put into words. It's more of a feeling. A perception that, despite everything built, achieved, and lived, something remains unresolved.

When the material pursuit hits its limit

Most people spend years — sometimes decades — operating in problem-solving mode. I need more money, more recognition, more security, more love. And each achievement brings temporary relief, a satisfaction that soon gives way to the next need.

This cycle works for a while. But there comes a point when a person has matured enough to realize that the pattern repeats regardless of what's been achieved. As Jonas points out, the spiritual journey begins when a person discovers they have more than just a material journey ahead.

It's not that the
