Non-possessiveness — not accumulating beyond what is necessary
Aparigraha is the practice of not accumulating possessions beyond what is necessary — not through forced austerity but through understanding that security does not come from objects. It is one of the five yamas of Patañjali's Yoga Sūtra. In Vedānta, aparigraha is a natural expression of vairāgya.
