Qualifications
One who intensely desires liberation
Mumukṣu is one who has developed intense and authentic desire for mokṣa — not intellectual curiosity, but existential need. Mumukṣutva is the fourth qualification (sādhana catuṣṭaya): viveka, vairāgya, śamādi ṣaṭka, mumukṣutva. Not to be confused with frustration or escapism. The tradition recognizes degrees: manda (weak), madhyama (medium), tīvra (intense), para-tīvra (burning).
