Prārabdha

Prārabdha is the portion of sañcita-karma that has been selected to produce and sustain the current body-mind — already 'started', in progress. It cannot be avoided even by knowledge; the jñānī remains in the body until the prārabdha is exhausted (analogy: arrows already shot follow to the target). Different from sañcita (in stock) and āgāmi (in formation). The three together compose the tripartite division of karma in Vedānta.
