Apparent level of reality — individual illusion like a dream
Prātibhāsika is the illusory level of reality — experiences like dreams, desert mirages, or the snake seen in a rope. It is an individual projection that dissolves with a change of perspective. Unlike mithyā (which has a real basis), prātibhāsika is purely subjective and temporary. The three levels of reality (prātibhāsika, vyāvahārika, pāramārthika) are a central pedagogical tool in Vedānta.
