Qualifications
Resolution — the ability to keep the mind focused on the teaching
Samādhāna is the sixth of the six virtues (ṣaṭ-sampatti) — the ability to keep the mind firmly directed toward the study and understanding of the teaching. It is not forced concentration but a natural orientation of the mind that arises when the other five virtues (śama, dama, uparati, titikṣā, śraddhā) are present. With samādhāna, the student can listen, reflect, and assimilate without distraction.
